Lecturer in Uniformed Public Services. Part Time (18.5 hours per week). Permanent.

We are one of the largest Further Education Colleges in the UK with more than 20,000 learners studying with us on a wide range of courses. Our mission is to equip people with the skills they need to be successful in education, in work and business and in their personal lives.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Sport and Service Enterprises curriculum area for a Lecturer in Uniformed Public Services. We are seeking a candidate with a strong background in at least one of the Uniformed Public Services that will be able to deliver on a range of BTEC Uniformed Public Services courses.

With significant teaching experience and relevant experience within the Industry, we are seeking an enthusiastic Lecturer with a broad understanding of the Uniformed Public Services curriculum that is able to teach across a range of Units and accompany learners on a number of trips and expeditions as part of the programme.

Uniformed Public Services are a growing area at the College, largely due to our excellent offer and outstanding achievement results. We are currently developing an HNC/HND as well as starting a Combined Cadet Force, which go live in 18/19.

Candidates will hold a full teaching qualification and have a track record of delivering high quality teaching and learning. You will also hold a Level 3 or equivalent qualification in any subject as long as you have relevant Industry experience.

Experience of leading course provision and coordinating IV are desirable, together with the ability to appraise courses using a range of quality and performance indicators. You will also hold a Level 2 minimum in Maths and English (GCSE Grade C or above, GCSE Grade 4 or above or equivalent).
