£15.00 an hour

We are an established, small, dynamic and fast-growing communications company based in Cambridge with customers across the UK in the healthcare, transport and hospitality sectors.

We are now looking for an experienced bookkeeper/administrator to help us to achieve our growth targets.  This is a critical role within the business and the successful candidate will become an integral part of the organisation.

You must be organised, have excellent communication and people skills, very strong attention to detail, bags of energy, be a naturally positive person and you must thrive under pressure.

This is a part-time role, working 12 hours per week. Ideally, we would like someone to work these hours over 4 days per week, but we are happy to be flexible for the right person.

Main duties will include:

  • Data entry using Sage, Microsoft Access and Excel
  • Processing sales invoices, receipts and payments through our bespoke MS Access based CRM system and Sage
  • Processing purchase invoices
  • Processing direct debits
  • Credit Control
  • Updating and maintaining customer information
  • Liaising with customers and suppliers by telephone and email
  • Completing VAT returns
  • Checking company bank statements and reconciling
  • Maintaining fixed asset registers
  • Commission calculations
  • Preparing Management Accounts and supporting schedules
  • Preparing Profit and Loss accounts and supporting schedules
  • Dealing with prepayments, deferred income and accruals
  • Ad-hoc office administration including some scanning, copying and filing

The successful candidate will be an experienced bookkeeper/administrator and will have or be:

  • Up to date Sage 50 experience
  • Excellent Excel skills
  • Excellent verbal and written English
  • Strong commercial awareness
  • Solid analytical skills and an inquisitive mind
  • Methodical and accurate
  • Good at building effective relationships with colleagues, partners and clients
  • Highly organised and used to juggling workloads and competing priorities
  • Proactive, show initiative and able to pick up new tasks and systems easily
  • A confident telephone manner
  • Good problem-solving skills
