Imperial College Union is seeking Sales & Sponsorship Executive who will be the central point of contact for advertising sales and event/activity sponsorship that the Union undertakes.

The Imperial College Union is a vibrant, charitable organisation led by its membership of 18,000+ students. We deliver an incredible range of activities, services and opportunities every year - over 370 clubs, societies and projects; seven social enterprises; advice and support services; training and development; as well as hundreds of social and commercial events. All of these activities provide an opportunity for external organisations to engage with our members as they develop into future leaders of their respective fields.

Duties and responsibilities

You will lead on the development and performance of external sales activities in the Student Voice & Communications directorate, working proactively to meet our income objectives, and establishing plans and strategies to expand the customer base.

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • To gain both strategic and in-depth understanding of the Unions’ programmes and services
  • To develop and identify avenues for return on investment and present them to sponsors and advertisers
  • To be an ambassador and build valuable long-term relationships with corporate partners, STEM businesses, graduate recruiters and local businesses

Essential requirements

  • You will be experienced in building and retaining long term relationships with local, national and/or international companies
  • You will have an understanding of marketing aimed at the youth and student market
  • You will research markets, conduct and analyse reports, generate new ideas, develop successful initiatives and see them to their conclusion

An experience of working in higher education or within a student membership organisation is desirable.
