The role of Account Manager:

This role focuses on 3 main key areas on a day to day basis;

  • Retention: Ensuring that existing customers renew their products
  • Enhancements: Selling additional products and services to existing customers
  • Customer relationship management: Managing customer relationships as required to ensure satisfaction and advocacy as well as a smooth renewal process
  • New Business: Prospecting and winning new business

Key accountabilities of the Account Manager:

  • Prospect and approach potential customers using all relevant media and industry knowledge such as the Web and markets
  • Make and receive calls to customers establishing needs and demonstrating appropriate solutions
  • Negotiate and close deals delivering targets whilst maintaining customer advocacy
  • Process and track orders ensuring payment is received
  • Build and maintain product knowledge ensuring a wide understanding of CAP HPI product portfolio
  • Maintain relationships throughout the customer lifecycle retaining customers whilst minimising costs
  • Contact lapsed customers re-engaging them with the CAP and HPI product range
  • Drive strong internal relationships particularly with marketing, customer support and finance
  • Contribute towards and maintain the industry standing and reputation of CAP and HPI acting as an ambassador always

Year one critical success factors:

  • Consistent achievement of agreed targets and key performance indicators
  • Renewals processed and delivered to customers in a timely fashion
  • Orders processed and tracked in a timely manner to ensure prompt payment
  • Maximise conversion rates across all call types by taking responsibility for continuously improving performance in conjunction with your line manager
  • Appropriate and balanced management of discounts to deliver required targets profitably
  • Maximise productive calling time and adhere to agreed telephone standards
  • Adhere to department administration and reporting procedure

Experience

  • Proven experience and track record of sales performance in a similar sales environment
  • Able to demonstrate “Farming” sales skills – the ability to develop and grow existing relationships
