We need an enthusiastic, self-motivated and dedicated professional to take responsibility for our profile building and fund raising activities as we continue our mission to improve the lives of visually impaired people throughout the county. As a member of our Management Team you will often be the face and voice of NAB, dealing with all communications, media and supporter activity.
You will need to take ownership of our reputation and brand, be a great public speaker and have the ability to communicate effectively with people of all ages and abilities. If you have a welcoming attitude, good organisational and ICT skills and lots of relevant experience we want to hear from you. Access to a car is essential and occasional
evening/weekend working is likely.

As a member of the Management Team and the charity's lead marketing, public relations and fundraising professional; help ensure the charity achieves its key objectives:
MARKETING (50%)
- Develop and implement strategies, tactics and relationships that market the charity to a range of audiences including potential clients, funders, business networks and partners and the wider public.
- Produce, commission, distribute and maintain availability of up-to-date, accessible information about the charity - including advertising, leaflets, website and social media content and newsletters.
- Co-ordinate and oversee delivery of sponsored and other events to support fundraising, donations, sponsorship, awareness raising and take-up of the charity's services.
PUBLIC RELATIONS (10%)
- Build relationships with media and other organisations, identifying and exploiting opportunities for positive coverage and profiling.
FUNDRAISING (30%)
- Develop, implement and administer ethical fundraising schemes, activities and initiatives in order to generate the income needed to meet the charity's annual income target - target - including corporate fundraising, community fundraising and individual giving (legacies, sponsored activities, one off and regular donations, digital platforms and the like).
- As a member of the Management Team contribute as necessary to funding bids to statutory bodies, the national lottery and trusts.
GENERAL (10%)
- Produce reports, policy and strategy documents and give presentations to the Executive Committee and others to facilitate achievement of all of the above.
- Ensure the efficient and effective management and use of allocated resources in achieving all of the above.
- Ensure the charity's marketing and fundraising activities comply with relevant codes of practice/regulations and reflect the charity's ethical standpoint and ethos.
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of marketing and fundraising best practice, developments and initiatives to ensure the charity's marketing and fundraising activities remain effective.
- As a member of the management team, assist and contribute to the corporate management of the charity as may be required to help ensure operational resilience.
- Manage the Marketing and Fundraising budgets and allocated staff/volunteers in order to help ensure the charity achieves its objectives and staff/volunteers feel valued.
- Undertake other duties as may reasonably be required to further the charity's aims.

THE CANDIDATE:Marketing and Fundraising Manager- Northampton, Northamptonshire
- The successful candidate for the Marketing & Fundraising Manager position must have a real passion and desire for creativity and making a difference to the lives of others, plus at least 3+ years relevant work experience biased towards the marketing aspects of the role. A distinct advantage for this role would be experience gained in a similar role from within the Charity sector and a Degree level qualification in marketing or a related discipline.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE/ ABILITY TO:
- Act as an ambassador for the charity - represent NAB in public and in the media.
- Develop rapport, influence and effective relationships with a wide range of individuals and organisations to successfully secure fundraising, campaigning and profile building support.
- Write engaging copy for advertisements, press releases, newsletter, social media postings, website content, fundraising campaigns and so on.
- Administer NAB's website and social media profiles, keeping both current and informative.
- Arrange and organise fundraising and profile building events as well as the ability to work with, support and encourage others to put on similar events for the charity.
- Produce, concise, balanced and considered reports and policy documents to aid decision making, set out policies, rules and procedures and interpret regulatory guidance.
- Supervise, lead, motivate, co-ordinate and enthuse staff, colleagues, volunteers and others working for or on behalf of the charity.
- Administer fundraising schemes, for example maintain a Gift Aid register and legacy register
- Work on own initiative and as part of a small team, adapting as necessary to the task in hand.
- Blend a business-like approach to fundraising & marketing with the ethos of the charity sector.
- Empathise with people of all abilities.
- Speak authoritatively and confidently about the charity and its work to groups of people
- Act with integrity and maintain personal and professional confidences.
- Plan, organise and balance your workload, identifying and coping with competing priorities.
- Research, analyse, interpret and risk assess complex data to inform decision making.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously and through to completion on time and budget.
- Produce a budget for your service area/projects and manage within those budgets.
- Work within professional, regulatory and internal policies, regulations and the like.
- Use databases, the Office suite of software plus design software such as Adobe Creative Cloud to a standard appropriate to the needs and of the job as described.
- Drive, with access to a car for work.
- Work flexibility as occasional weekend and evening working, for example to represent the charity at a community or corporate fundraising event is inevitable.
- Work within a small, informal team/organisation where everyone has to lend a helping hand at times and no two days tend to be the same.
Plus:
- 3+ years relevant work experience, biased towards the marketing aspects of the role, to include practical experience of developing new marketing and/or fundraising initiatives from inception to conclusion.
- Trained in a variety of marketing methods (internal or external)
