Newcastle University Estate Support Service is looking to appoint an experienced estates professional to support the Capital Development & Planning team in the role of Estate Planner.

As an Estate Planner you will work in partnership with the Faculties and Central Services to develop a holistic estate strategy for the University reflecting future aspirations. The role will involve building business cases for investment in the estate by developing project briefs, assisting in stakeholder consultation, preparing feasibility studies, capital investment appraisals, advising on development opportunities and related relocations as required. The number and value of projects will vary from minor refurbishments to capital projects in excess of GBP50 million.

The post holder is expected hold a relevant degree in either Architecture, Planning, Surveying or Project Management. Experience of the HE sector is beneficial but not essential, however relevant experience managing a diverse estate and working alongside a variety of stakeholders is critical.

You must have excellent IT skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project and AutoCAD and have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of 3D modelling software such as Revit and BIM would be advantageous.

You must demonstrate evidence of being able to influence people and have excellent organisational skills, in addition high-quality negotiation skills and a proactive style of management are essential.
