About us

At Bath Spa University we work with one clear vision: to be a leading university in creativity, culture and enterprise. And as the fifth largest employer in Bath and North East Somerset, we’re really bringing our local talent out on a global scale. And with increasing student numbers, it’s important for an expansion in our infrastructure and cherished buildings and landscapes. Transforming the lives of our socially engaged global students starts with making sure that our people, people like you, are engaged, empowered and feel valued for the hard work they do. And that’s where you come in.

About the role

The VP (R&E) and Dean of Graduate College is a key strategic position in the university. The role is a complex one, working with many stakeholders both internally and externally. This is by nature a peripatetic role, and this means that the VP requires a robust PA who can keep him in touch with messages, meetings and other tasks whilst away from the office. The PA will also take responsibility for supporting the Research Professoriate in their leadership of the 3 University wide strategic research centres of Environmental Humanities, Creative and Cultural Industries and Transnational Creativity and Education.

About you (requirements)

You will have a problem solving approach with excellent communication and organisational skills, able to build and maintain excellent working relationships with people across all levels.  You will need to be able to work on your own initiative and also as part of the research office team, and be able to manage your workload effectively when working to tight deadlines and balancing important priorities.

We offer excellent facilities and benefits to our staff.  These include a nursery, childcare vouchers, pension scheme, flexible working practices, an employee assistance programme, and family-friendly policies

We value a diverse workforce and welcome applications from all sections of the community
