The Role
Gordano School is seeking to appoint a Pastoral Support and Safeguarding Officer whose main role will be to work as a member of the School’s Safeguarding team. They will work alongside teaching and support staff staff, parents and pupils. The underpinning value of the work is to ensure that every pupil achieves their potential, both academically and personally, through the provision of targeted support and intervention, working with the school’s Pastoral leaders and outside agencies. Under the direction and line management of the Deputy Head (Pastoral), this postholder will contribute to all aspects of pupils’ wellbeing and progress.
The Pastoral Support Safeguarding Officer will work as part of a strong, highly supportive and professional team with designated work space and office.
The role will mainly involve
- working with pupils with behavioural and attendance issues linked to Child Protection and Safeguarding
- liaising and working with their parents and carers
- working with other school staff and outside agencies to provide the best pastoral support for students with the greatest personal challenges in their lives
- working as a key member within our Pastoral support and Safeguarding teams to ensure children are safe and their well-being is monitored.
