We have a new exciting opportunity, not to be missed! At DEBRA we are currently looking for a Health & Safety Manager to join our busy team based in Crowthorne. The successful candidate will join us working on a full time, permanent basis and will receive a competitive salary of £35,000 per annum!

DEBRA is the national charity that supports individuals and families affected by Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) – a genetic condition which causes the skin to blister and shear at the slightest friction or even spontaneously. We have a vision of a world where no one suffers from this painful condition.

About the Health & Safety Manager role

Reporting to the Director of Retail, the Health & Safety Manager will lead on Health and Safety within the organisation, ensuring that DEBRA is legally compliant, and that procedures within the policy are effectively implemented.

Key responsibilities of our Health & Safety Manager

- Meet legal and statutory Health and Safety requirements

- Ensure all new and existing premises and other sites meet expected safety standards

- Coordinate and facilitate H&S training for all staff

- Manage Safeguarding within the organisation

What we’re looking for in our Health & Safety Manager

- Adaptability: Adopts a flexible approach to work and is not bound to restrictive ways of doing things

- An ability to work quickly and effectively in a fast moving environment

- Functional Expertise: Displays a high level of technical/functional/professional knowledge and expertise in own field and constantly updates knowledge to ensure expertise remains relevant

- Recognised H&S qualification (IOSH – managing safely, NEBOSH)

- Team Working: Works cooperatively and effectively with others in a team to achieve shared objectives

- Commercial Focus: Demonstrates understanding of overall business and commercial issues facing the Charity and uses this knowledge to improve results

- Managing Networks: Creates and develops the effective relationships needed to achieve business results and to develop technically and professionally

- Motivation and Drive: Sets challenging personal goals and demonstrates personal energy, drive and determination to achieve them even in the face of pressure or problems, whilst maintaining working relationships

- Work to own initiative – ‘Self-starter’
