Interested in SQL and C#? So are they! Candidates with prior SQL experience will be given extra consideration, but all candidates with a strong grasp of programming principles, particularly experience with other similar languages (VB, Java etc.), will be viewed favourably.
Candidates should possess vision and commitment in achieving excellence in ITIL service provision coupled with extensive practical experience of the development and support of ICT solutions.
The ideal candidates will have knowledge of developing and supporting ICT Business applications to defined standards and timescales together with a good knowledge of Agile methodologies such as SCRUM. Strong analytical, investigative and documentation skills are required along with awareness of emerging trends in development and support best practice.
The council believes that it is critical to encourage personal development to have a successful team. As such, we are keen to allow our staff personal development time to undertake relevant training courses or otherwise improve their skill set.
This post is covered by the Government's Code of Practice on the English Language Fluency Duty for public sector workers. The postholder will be required to communicate verbally with customers and provide advice and/or information in accurate spoken English.
For this role the successful candidates must undergo a Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) check. BPSS is the minimum standard to ensure the identity and integrity of an employee who has access to official information using secure networks linking central government and local authorities. A BPSS check involves four main elements; Identity Check, National and Immigration Status, Employment History (last 3 years) and Verification of Criminal Record (unspent convictions only).
