I am recruiting on behalf of a client for a Contracts Manager to join their Procurement team located in their offices in Aston, just outside Birmingham city centre. This is a FTC for a period of 12 months until 30th April 2019 (possibility of a 12 month extension).
The purpose of the role IS to assist in delivering procurement and contract management activities that meet the needs of the organisation.
The position involves awarding and managing a range of contracts and tenders, so a level of understanding of the contracts management process and an understanding of EU and UK procurement legislation is required. Applicants must have experience of obtaining and evaluating quotations and experience of leading on a procurement or project with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
You should have a positive approach, be self motivated and have the ability to prioritise your own workload.
Some of your Specific Duties will include:
-To manage projects, contracts and tenders allocated to them and oversee the timely and accurate progression of operationally significant purchases.
-To prepare and progress contract arrangements for the supply of goods, services and works. Where appropriate engage in negotiations in accordance with internal Standing Orders.
-To ensure adherence to EU procurement regulations, Health and Safety legislation, financial regulations and administrative procedures in relation to managing contracts, tenders and quotations.
-To liaise with suppliers and external bodies and to foster user relationships to ensure that the goods or services purchased meet their need.
The successful candidate will have a back ground in the Public Sector and experience of working in a procurement or contracts management role.
Annual Salary - £26,822 - £28,000
