We are currently recruiting for a Payroll Officer to join our established payroll team at our offices in Wakefield.

About the role
This is a full time role, working 37.5 hours per week, offered initially on a fixed term basis for six months after which point the role will be reviewed.
In this role, you will assist the Payroll Manager in ensuring that all payroll procedures are conducted in a timely and accurate manner. You will handle internal and external queries, and produce and distribute reports to relevant staff.
In the absence of the Payroll Manager, you will assume line management responsibility and monitor the work of our Payroll Assistants.
About you
The ideal candidate will have previous experience of working in a payroll environment and a good working knowledge of the principles of PAYE and National Insurance. You will be comfortable both working in and leading a team, and have strong time management and organisational skills. The successful candidate will have experience using computer based payroll systems, and knowledge of the full Microsoft Office suite.
