BOARDING HOUSEPARENTS (HEAD OF BOARDING)
Required for September 2018 Boarding at Salisbury Cathedral School is a source of great pride.
The Boarding House (with the four-bedroom houseparents' accommodation attached) has its own private garden, backing on to the river, nestling safely on the opposite side of the Cathedral Close to the main School.
The School, which dates back to 1091, is housed in the 800 year old former Bishop's Palace, with boarding firmly at its heart.
The boarders and their parents identify with the nurturing, caring, home-from-home approach, offered by our dedicated staff, who are approachable and warm; most importantly, staff know and understand each individual child as their own. The House is currently run primarily by a married couple who live in, and are supported by a team of school staff.
Both houseparents teach in the school, although this is not a necessity. Any teaching opportunities, or indeed any support work in the School will be considered and discussed at interview.
We are seeking an outstanding houseparent to manage our boarding house which accommodates approximately 40 boys and girls aged 7 to 13.
The primary purpose of this position is the pastoral care of boarders and the smooth running of the boarding house in line with the ethos of our School and the current legislative requirements. Pastoral experience with children up to the age of 13, preferably within a boarding school, is essential.
