Production Shift Team Leader

Contract Type: Permanent

Salary / Benefits: Circa £40,000 inc SA

Job Elements: -

·Working within a fast moving high volume production department, working 12hr continental shifts

·Organize and lead a shift responsible for the production and testing of finished products to meet business output needs.

·Prioritizes and schedules work to meet business needs

·Works on production line as necessary to cover breaks and absence

·Takes lead out of hours for site emergencies liaising with external groups as required

·Runs daily departmental meetings, presenting metrics and highlighting issues to support functions

·Able to monitor and analyze production data e.g. OEE

·Attends cross-functional production meetings

·Keeps accurate records and measures of production methods, test results and performance indices

·Provide the leadership and training required to achieve empowered and motivated individuals and effective co-operation within and between teams

·Carry out employee appraisals to agreed timetable and assist in the provision of development plans, selection and recruitment of employees

·Identification and implementation of initiatives resulting in productivity gains

·Lead decision maker out of core hours, escalating as appropriate

·Actively manages attendance and performance of direct reports

The ideal candidate will have:

·Experience will be expected of leading a team in a production environment, within a regulated industry

·Ideally educated to degree level or holding a recognised supervisory qualification (ILM etc)

·Good communication skills

·Resilient to changing priorities

·Good leadership skills, committed to team and partnership working

·Able to operate in a busy, multi-tasking environment

·Innovative and accepting of change

·Ability to rise above the issues to see the bigger picture
