Our client is an independently owned industry leading engineering company, based in Cornwall and due to supply and demand they are now seeking to recruit a permanent lead CNC Machinist.
Responsibilities
* Quality Control of machine products
* Setting and Operating - CNC Machine Centre and CNC Turning Centre
* Programming basic components - Siemens 828D control
* Prove through new programmes provided by Production Manager
* Provide Estimated machining times for new products and components in the absence of the Production manager
* Supervise the machining day to day, running of the machining section and other machinists
* Meet Deadlines
* Provide feedback, regarding machine times, tooling or work holding requirements and machine performance as the team grows
* Day to day House Keeping.
Essential Skills
* Ability to read engineering drawings
* Field relevant qualifications - time served
* Experience of machining precision components
* Professional approach to management
* Good time management
* Willingness to work overtime/or shift when and as required
* Background in Manufacturing
* Experience of programming CNC Machines
* Quality Control
Preferred Skills
* Understanding of tolerances, fits & surfaces, finishes
* Experience of using XYZ Machine Tools
* Experience of Siemens Control
* Background in Engineering
* Background in a supervisory role.
In return the company are offering a salary GBP20K - GBP24K dependant on experience plus overtime. Holidays of 20 days plus bank holidays, and each year one additional day added to a maximum of 25(33 days in total)
