Staff Required - Step by Step School

Step by Step School is an independent school near East Grinstead for pupils aged 4-19 with Autism Spectrum Disorder. 

We need enthusiastic people to join our team of dedicated staff to deliver individualised programs of education to our pupils of Primary, Secondary and Sixth Form ages. We are keen to hear from individuals who have worked with children and young people with autism using a behavioural approach. You will need a well organised approach, good planning skills, an appreciation of Health & Safety in the workplace and a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. Above all, you will also need the physical and emotional resilience to work with young people who sometimes present with challenging behaviour.

We are inviting applicants educated to 'A' level standard and /or applicants with at least two years' experience working in a school.  Graduates with a degree in Psychology or a related field and an interest in special education are also invited to apply.

Working Hours: Full-time, 8.45 am - 5.15 pm, 40 weeks over three terms.

Starting salary from £16,000 per annum (may vary subject to experience).  Upon satisfactory completion of a six month probationary period, salary is subject to an incremental increase.

We offer a two year in-house autism specific training programme with excellent on-going opportunities for professional development.
