Description Associate (NQ-6 PQE), Contentious Construction Competitive Salary and Benefits Package Role Location: London EC2 THE ROLE Our Litigation & Regulatory Group comprises dispute resolution lawyers and regulatory specialists wherever the firm is represented, making it one of the largest specialist teams in the world. Our full service offering is unique in its coverage and we can provide a complete solution to our clients' global dispute and regulatory needs, whether through political lobbying, risk assessment, investigations, defence, crisis management, media relations, regulatory representation, mediation, investment treaty arbitration, dispute resolution and strategic litigation. Our Construction & Engineering dispute resolution team within the Group forms an essential part of the global cross practice sector team, Infrastructure, Construction and Transport. The team offers specialist contractual and business advice to a diverse client base across the construction and engineering industry and those who interface with it, both at home and abroad. We help clients understand the extent of their duties and obligations under contracts they have entered into both when deals are done and when things go wrong. We assist in the management of disputes and prepare strategies for dealing with claims be they by international arbitration, litigation, adjudication, expert determination or mediation. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Following significant growth and further projected growth, we now have a new role for a Contentious Construction, Projects and Infrastructure Associate to join our market leading specialist team. The key focus of the role will be on domestic and international PFI/PPP disputes. Acting for a diverse client and sector base, the successful candidate will gain direct experience in all aspects of disputes avoidance, management and resolution of high quality highly complex disputes in the PFI/PPP sector. The role will be based in our London office with an existing team, but will also require frequent travel to Manchester and to our international offices. SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES To be successful in this role, you will need to have: Prior demonstrable experience of Contentious PFI/PPP work Up to 6 years PQE (We do not set upper or lower limits of pqe for any of our vacancies. We have however given an indicative pqe as an approximate guide for applicants); Excellent skills in communication, client relations, team-working and project management; and Be committed to providing DLA Piper's clients with a rounded and comprehensive range of services to help them conduct their business.
