The role of HR Business Partner is to enable managers and employees to have positive working relationships and to maintain an excellent working environment through ensuring best practice people management is embedded across the organisation. Your overall objective is to contribute to making Future Cities Catapult a great place to work!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working directly with the management and employees of your dedicated business unit, you will be responsible for ensuring the implementation and maintenance of best practice, full-spectrum human capital management.
  • Partnering with managers to ensure matters are handled and managed in line with our policies and procedures, ensuring operational fairness across the business.
  • Be a trusted advisor to your internal clients through provision of accurate and timely advice, coaching and guidance whilst ensuring workplace matters are managed sensitively and with confidentiality.
  • Confidently using our HR information system (SagePeople), ensuring our data is well maintained, accurate, and ready to be extracted to inform effective decision-making.
  • Undertaking personnel processes for your dedicated business unit, but not limited to, maintenance of monthly payroll, preparing offers of employment, updating information in the HR Information System and coordinating recruitment processes.
  • Supporting HR & Corporate Services Director on strategic HR projects that cover the full employee life-cycle, such as management and leadership development, apprenticeships, coaching, employee satisfaction, organisational development, salary structure implementation and reviews, creating and delivering training courses, policy reviews etc.

Skills & Experience:

  • CIPD Associate, or working towards your Level 5 CIPD, or equivalent professional or university education.
  • A proven track-record of experience in providing accurate and timely people management advice and guidance to managers and employees.
  • Previous experience working on HR-related projects that aim to enhance the employee experience.
  • Proven ability to manage your own work priorities and time to ensure client expectations are met.
  • Impeccable attention to detail, ability to spot discrepancies in text and numbers by logically linking information to the context and purpose it serves.
  • A can-do attitude to get things done, whilst balancing this with empathy for sensitive situations.
