The Assistant Finance Manager role:
This is a brand new position within our fast-expanding Finance Team supporting the Finance Manager with the rapid growth of the company, taking it from strength to strength. We are looking for a high energy, hands-on and ambitious individual to join the team and grow with this exciting, fast-paced online business. You will be highly organised and have an excellent track record of multi-tasking with high attention to detail at all times.
What will the role involve?
+ Supporting the HR and Finance Manager in preparation and reconciliation of payroll
+ Completion of VAT, Intrastat, EC Sales List
+ Direct responsibility/management of accounts payable, accounts receivable and treasury (5 direct reports) including development, training and mentoring of individuals as well as KPI management for month-end
+ Monitoring compliance with controls, processes and procedures
+ Bank and credit card reconciliation
+ Assisting with month-end and year-end processes, including year-end statutory audit
+ Performing tasks relating to general ledger accounting (journal entries, account analysis, supporting schedules)
+ Reviewing weekly payment runs
+ Reviewing purchase order coding, bank reconciliations, sales ledger and purchase ledger
+ Performing additional analytical and technical tasks as required by the business
+ Responding to enquiries from a wide variety of sources for the purpose of facilitating communication and/or providing guidance
+ Performing administrative functions (mail processing, filing, etc) as assigned
+ Assisting and being actively be involved with Systems department in relation to Sage development and continuous improvement
What are we looking for?
+ Someone willing to roll up their sleeves and get stuck in; a can-do, motivated attitude with the ability to learn on the job and use their initiative
+ Impeccable attention to detail while multi-tasking
+ Ability to deliver high-quality work under the pressure of tight deadlines and a questioning mindset
+ Ability to communicate financial data to non-financial employees at all levels within the company
+ Advanced Excel skills (Vlookup, Pivot tables)
+ Knowledge of compliance including VAT, Intrastat, EC Sales List, statutory audit
+ Previous experience in data entry and processing of accounting entries, including but not limited to banking, sales invoices, purchase orders and invoices
+ Experience in managing finance teams
+ Experience in payroll
+ Part-qualified ACA/ACCA or AAT Level 4 with experience
+ Experience in other FMCG or Consumer Businesses and with stock highly desirable
+ Experience in a fast growth, entrepreneurial environment desirable
