Senior Operator/Technician

We require a senior operator/technician to take responsibility of the day to day operation of our busy woodshavings baling plant based at Bayram Timber Mill.

You will be working with our existing operator to bale and palatalise wood-shavings on our automatic baling machine.  You will also load the finished pallets onto our transport and liaise with staff at our Head Office in Sittingbourne, Kent.  You will be involved in planning collections and keeping records of goods dispatched.  The candidate will also be required to do routine stock checks of our Plastics and Pallets and let Head Office know when stocks are getting low.

Routine maintenance schedules for our plant and machinery must also be observed, training and ongoing assistance will be provided by our company’s service engineer.

Experience    The successful applicant will have a proven background in operating hydraulic/mechanical/automated equipment and possess the ability to work on their own initiative.  We are looking for a team player with good communication skills to integrate quickly into our small family run team.  A good telephone manner and basic I.T skills are required, and it would be an advantage to possess a current fork truck licence.  We use a teleporter fork truck on site, but we will provide training for the successful applicant if required.

Salary  £25k -£27 per annum with overtime

This position is hourly paid based on a 40-hour week.  However, additional overtime up to 10 hours a week is available.  You will also receive an additional profit related bonus which is paid annually.
