St. Michael's Hospice, Basingstoke
Trustee Vacancies
St. Michael's Hospice was founded in 1992 and has recently celebrated 25 years of providing specialist palliative and end of life care to patients within the community of North Hampshire.
The In Patient Unit has ten bedrooms which provides medical and nursing care for often complex patients and the Community Palliative Care Team delivers care directly to patients in their own homes and in nursing homes and works collaboratively with peers across the community to ensure that a wide range of of services are available to support patients, families and carers.
As a Registered Charity, the provision of our clinical services costs approximately GBP3.9 million per annum, of which the vast majority, around 80%, comes from charitable donations or via the hospice's retail outlets.
There are over 100 staff who are supported by approximately 800 volunteers and all the care given to patients and the support for their families is free of charge, irrespective of personal circumstances.
St. Michael's Hospice is regulated by the Care Quality Commission who following their most recent inspection rated the organisation as GOOD.
Following the retirement of Trustees, we are looking to appoint 2 or 3 new board members.
- We are particularly seeking individuals with law, marketing, public relations, executive level business or human resource management experience.
