Our client the UK's largest retail general insurer has a new opening for a Product Delivery Manager to join the Commercial Division during an exciting period of growth and transformation. You will support the Head of Change and Product Delivery to schedule/plan our change portfolio

You'll also have accountability for managing the Product Delivery team consisting of 10-12 product development and test analysts to successfully deliver against the Commercial business change portfolio. This will require Project Management and Co-ordination of key Commercial Change initiatives, projects with regards to Product Development, Testing and Change Delivery.

The job

Planning and Product Delivery (primarily change planning, development and testing aspects)

* Co-ordinate, plan and schedule changes and if appropriate facilitate options and decisions where there is conflict
* Support Commercial Exec to plan and prioritise change (e.g. products, technology, pricing, underwriting) across the lifecycle including impact assessing conflicting priorities
* Definition and delivery of the end to end Development (IS2000/Policy Administration System), Testing Strategy and services that underpin the Commercial change portfolio
* Deliver the development and testing work streams across the commercial change portfolio
* Produce and update papers (PowerPoint, Excel) providing an up-to-date view of progress against milestones, risks and issues, and dependencies to the Head of Change and Product Delivery
* Provide input to impact assessments and decision papers underpinning the change process, planning and prioritisation
* Manage the overall test strategy, planning and co-ordination of all phases of testing across the portfolio
* Regular quality assurance of the test artefacts as produced by the in-house team and any testing partners
* Ensure the delivery of testing to agreed baseline time, cost and quality in adherence with departmental best practice, relevant, appropriate and agreed testing methods, standards and policies for both waterfall and agile methods of delivery.
* Takes the lead on work stream delivery, co-ordinates activities across other platforms.
* Plans pipeline projects impacting multiple platforms (e.g. OpenGI, Acturis, PowerPlace) from a resourcing and activity perspective,
* Provides SME input to assist with shaping and planning future projects.
* Pro-actively manages work stream risks and dependencies and if all else fails manages project recoveries.

The experience and skills needed

* Knowledge of General Insurance, Personal and Commercial Lines Insurance Products, including Broker Software Houses - Polaris, Open GI, Acturis, SSP
* Project Management experience and exposure across the full Project Lifecycle, and creating and managing a Project Plans
* Strong understanding and application of development and testing practices
* Ability to learn quickly and breakdown problems in to simple chunks
