Your new role
The HR People Services Manager will line manage 2 HR Assistants and is accountable for delivering a best in-class, efficient HR service to a diverse client group, providing excellent operational support underpinned by service level agreements to ensure timely and effective resolution of cases and first line professional advice and guidance. Responsible for developing and enhancing the use of HR technology to best effect.

Key Responsibilities

Provide professional advice and guidance to employees and management on inquiries.
Act as the first point of escalation for leaders and managers on SelectHR data, support and queries, doubling as Select HR super-user.
Provide support and training to line managers on people policies and procedures.
Be the escalation point for the People Services team and provide timely resolutions or escalate to the Strategic HR Business Partners and / or Head of HR and Corporate Development.
Manage the People Services team on a daily basis, including one to one meetings, driving performance, performance reviews, managing absence, dealing with daily queries as they arise.
Contribute to the quality auditing process, including writing supporting documents, process maps and standard operating procedures.
Resolve and advise on more complex queries in line with the organisations policies and procedures as and when these are escalated by the team member
Ensure the People Services team members receive up to date training in line with any company changes or employment law developments.
Effectively manage, plan and co-ordinate the delivery and development of People Services team members.
Effectively and professionally engage with employees, third party contractors and external customers.
Work closely with the HR Delivery Team to ensure alignment between People Strategy, operational delivery and service expectations.
Work in partnership with HR colleagues and leaders / managers, enhancing their knowledge and enabling them to understand and advise on people management issues
Ensure effective and engaging communication with employees on all aspects of People Services activities.
As a member of the HR Delivery Leadership group, contribute to the development of People Strategy, people plans and business plans.
Contribute to the delivery of the HR Delivery Team vision by contributing to and where required, leading projects in the function and team business plans.
To undertake any other duties or projects commensurate with the nature and grade of this post as required.

What you'll need to succeed
Demonstrable experience of effective people management.
Sound HR knowledge including employment law and dispute resolution.
Significant experience of advising on a full range people related matters to employees, managers and senior leadership.
Experience of working and influencing people managers on people related issues
Excellent planning, organising and co-ordination of multiple complex issues.
Strong IT and system skills, with experience of maximising the benefits of HR technology within teams
Able to delegate responsibilities with confidence and build high performing teams.
Actively identifies opportunities for collaborative working to achieve alignment towards common goals.
Ability to identify continuous improvement opportunities, streamlining and reducing bureaucracy as appropriate.
Experience of building and managing relationships with external suppliers.
Excellent communication skills - ability to explain complex and technical information clearly and simply.
Experience of working with confidential information and a good knowledge of data protection principles.
