Would you like to use your PR skills to boost exciting projects working to tackle global poverty? Are you passionate about the power of the Church to achieve change? Are you great with people and want to showcase our work alongside people who are in the public eye? Tearfund is looking for a PR Officer to work with ambassadors, public figures and celebrities. You will have strong relationship management skills, knowledge of how to work with public figures and the PR skills to ensure that our life-changing work gets the coverage it deserves in the media. Tearfund is a respected Christian charity in the field of global poverty alleviation and disaster response. Our mission of following Jesus where the need is greatest means we work in 50 of the poorest countries in the world and we also campaign in the UK, and globally, for justice, equality and change for people living in extreme poverty. Our Ambassadors are important for making connections with new audiences and encouraging new and existing supporters. You will work in our Media team, reporting to the Public Relations Manager. You will coordinate relationships with ambassadors and public figures who can be from a variety of professional fields including entertainment, music, sport and church leadership. You will help plan ambassador visits to see our work, and you will generate media coverage that enables them to talk about our work. You will help keep them informed on what we are doing, and accompany them on speaking events across the UK. It's an exciting time for Tearfund; we have an enthusiastic and committed group of ambassadors and a new strategy seeks to deliver greater impact and growth. If you have good PR skills and understanding of UK media, excellent relationship management skills and knowledge or experience of working with high-profile people we would love to hear from you. For this role you will need to be self-motivated, efficient and organised and a positive team player. You must be committed to Tearfund's Christian beliefs. NB: This is a part time role at 21 hours per week. The salary is GBP30,000 per annum full time equivalent and GBP17,999 per annum part time equivalent.
