Based at our Hatfield depot, the Warehouse manager will work closely with the Depot Manager to ensure depot performance criteria is met and cost controlled through the effective planning, organisation, direction and control of all the depot personnel.
This role will work on a rota basis, 5 out of 7 days managing the warehouse operation.
Main responsibilities
Our Warehouse Managers are responsible for working with the Depot Manager to manage and achieve operational and financial KPIs set by the business.
You will ensure a health and safety culture is embedded across the site, promoting safe practices whilst motivating team members to achieve high levels of performance.
You will liaise and agree all manning levels, recruitment, training, development and the discipline of all colleagues with your Depot Manager.
You will drive Continuous improvement, implementing plans to engage the workforce and consistently improve performance.
Ideal candidate
You will need to provide leadership and direction to the Warehouse teams to ensure that people are engaged, focused and delivering their potential. Ensuring all mandatory / skills training is up to date for operators.
Have knowledge of the distribution/warehouse business and propose and implement continuous improvements, manage shift costs in line with a budget.
You will have a good understanding of chilled distribution with a particular emphasis on warehouse picking. Voice picking knowledge would be an advantage.
Excellent customer service and a high level of numeracy and literacy is essential.
