Production Engineer

PRODUCTION ENGINEER - TELFORD - £32,000

Our client based in Telford has a superb opportunity to join their company as a Production Engineer.

This role would be ideal if you have a background in Manufacturing or Automotive and essentially we are looking for someone with experience of production weld and spot weld processes.

Job Summary

You will be implementing production processes and procedures and applying a continuous improvement mindset to the operation. Your area of responsibility has great scope and variety to include not only continuous improvement but to introduce new products, improve the reduction of waste, improve quality and safety with a constant mind to costs across the business. You will be liaising and reporting to senior management.

The Job Role:

• Investigate production and process issues providing technical support and training
• Improve manufacturing efficiency by analysing and planning work flow, space requirements and equipment layout
• Support & lead continuous improvement, problem solving & process improvement activities
• Support and lead process improvement activities
• Perform root cause analysis and resolve problems
• Reduce variability in manufacturing by providing standard work methods and work instructions
• Assist with shop floor layout and cell designs
• Design fixtures and tooling for assembly tasks

Qualifications:

• Relevant Manufacturing/Engineering Qualification HNC or ONC, City & Guilds Level 3, BTEC National Diploma Level 3 or NVQ level 3 qualification

Previous Experience:

• Production Engineering or Continuous Improvement background
• Work experience in Automotive Manufacturing environment
• Production Welding - Spot welding experience essential
