Salary: £5 - £6per hour
Length of the programme: 12 -15 months Depending on initial assessment of English and Maths, with Flexible start dates.

Outward's Apprenticeship Programme gives people the opportunity to gain work experience in the social care sector whilst receiving an income.

The Apprenticeship Programme is a combination of paid work experience (38 hours per week) and a vocational qualification Diploma in Health and social Care, Care Certificate, Level 1 Functional Skills qualification in Maths and English and also an Apprenticeship Certificate).

You will be able to gain experience across a range of client groups, including learning disabilities, older people, mental health and Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), to give you the right experience and skills for a career in social care

About the Program

The first 3 months of your work you will be shadowing an experience colleague and all through your apprenticeship work experience you will be required to work alongside a buddy full-time, you will not be allocated clients until after this 3 months period has been completed successfully. Upon completion of your apprenticeship work experience, you will have the opportunity to make a career in the Health Sector and become an adult care worker with a company employing over 500 people across North and East London. On successful completion of the 1 year apprenticeship, you will also be eligible for a £250 voucher award, paid by Outward.

Full support and formal training will be provided by experienced members of staff to foster your skills and interest in delivering quality person centred care and support in line with Outward's policies and procedures. You will get a chance to work within a team to support our Service Users in all aspect of their everyday lives, providing practical, physical and emotional support to them. Such as supporting them to take up hobbies, get involved in the community, find a job or start an educational course. You could also support Service Users to maintain their tenancies ensuring that their living environment is well maintained. You may not have any experience; however, if you are interested in gaining experience in working with vulnerable adults then we want to hear from you!

*Group Task: This is to see how well you can work with others in a group. How positive, and confident you can be, how good are your listening skills and how well you can process instructions. On the assessment day you may be instructed to perform exercises/tasks in a group.
