Homelessness Prevention Officer

Part-time post, 18 hours per week

Temporary contract to May 2019

Post No: 2000BAL

Salary Grade: GBP23,398 to GBP25,951 pro rata, per annum (rising to GBP26,822 pro rata, per annum after five years continuous service) plus GBP840 Inner Fringe Allowance pro rata, per annum.

Homelessness (out of hours) Call Out duties required as part of a rota with other Officers, for which a payment will be made in accordance with the Collective agreement.

We are seeking to appoint a member of staff for the position of Homelessness Prevention Officer to join our Housing Options Team.

The Hours of work will be 18 hours for Monday, Tuesday full days and Wednesday Morning.

The service deals with applicants who are homeless or threatened with homelessness seeking to resolve their housing situation through various prevention measures.

If you have an understanding of Homelessness Legislation, Housing Law and have experience working in a Housing or Social Welfare environment, you could be the person we are looking for.

You must be a good communicator and be able to deal with people in stressful situations, remaining calm under pressure. You would be responsible for managing your own case load therefore, good organisation skills are key.

This post will provide an opportunity for successful candidate in dealing with members of the public within the new Legislation of the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.

A casual car allowance will be paid. You must have a current full drivers licence and use of a car for Council Business.
