Warehouse Manager

Our Client is looking to recruit a Warehouse Manager.

They are looking for an energetic, focused individual with strong organisational skills and good attention to detail. Applicants must have managerial experience and be able to successfully lead and direct a team.

Main Duties for a Warehouse Manager

Warehouse Supervision:

Daily staff briefing / meeting

Allocation of staff to meet daily targets (Liaise with project team)

Management of staff efficiency and quality.

Manage staff rotation.

Ensure quality procedures and team quality targets are strictly adhered to.

Implement the company’s Health and Safety Policy, ensuring safe working conditions and practices within the Warehouse.

Any other reasonable duties which may be required by management from time to time.

Inventory Control

To ensure effective, safe, accurate and timely stock management to include space allocation, stock transfer and dealing with non-confirming product.

Liaise with the Purchasing department to ensure adequate packaging available.

Ensure recycling weights are accurately recorded.

Warehouse Organisation

Be responsible for ensuring that the quality of the product and service within the Warehouse is maintained at the highest possible standards for the customer.

Maintain a clean and tidy warehouse.

Identification and locating of stock

Ensure daily/weekly/monthly audits are completed.

Maintenance of plant and equipment

Any other task required by the role as may arise from time to time

Tools and equipment used

PCs, Scanners etc.

Microsoft - Outlook/Word/Excel/Explorer

Sage Line 50

MRP & inventory control systems

Warehouse Equipment

Working conditions/degree of effort required

Some physical movement of stock will be required.

Education/Qualifications required

5 GCSE Grade C or equivalent including English and Mathematics, professional qualification in Warehousing and Distribution/Operations Management.

Fork Lift Truck License would be an advantage, as would exposure to Health & Safety training and training in safe handling of equipment.

Experience required for Warehouse Manager Role

Inventory management, stock control systems: Sage Line 50 or similar, MSOffice, Excel, Warehouse Management, bar code systems experience essential.

Knowledge of recycling/WEEE requirements desirable.

Any particular aptitude/skill required

Energetic, focussed individual with strong organisational skills, good attention to detail. Must have managerial experience, able to lead and direct a team or workers.

Strong PC skills, especially Word and Excel. Work within the requirements of the company’s documented quality system and to the companies published Health and Safety Policy.
