LOCATION: Sywell, Northamptonshire
JOB TITLE: Commission/ Junior Chef
SALARY & BENEFITS: GBP dependent on experience
WORKING HOURS: Full Time - split shifts on 7 day rota
THE COMPANY: Our client based in Sywell, Northamptonshire a local privately owned company is looking to recruit a Commis/Junior Chef for their onsite Hotel. The Hotel has 59 bedrooms with a large conference and event facility
THE ROLE: Commission/ Junior Chef - Sywell, Northamptonshire
To assist the Senior Chef on duty with storage, preparation, and cooking of all food items for The Aviator Hotel, whilst adhering to all Health and Food Safety areas of "Due Diligence". To also demonstrate and help maintain high levels of service that consistently exceeds the expectations of our members.

THE CANDIDATE: Commission/ Junior Chef - Sywell, Northamptonshire
The successful candidate must be someone who has experience working with and preparing food and a valid Food Hygiene certificate would be desirable. You should be someone who is passionate about food. Any related catering qualifications are welcome and a distinct advantage, but most importantly is having a natural passion for food. Candidates must live within commutable distance to Sywell, Northampton and must be able to commit to the shift patterns ( 6.30-3pm & 3pm to 10pm- split shifts) on a 7 day rota

- To assist and monitor food stocks and stock movement.
- To understand daily departmental costs and how they influence profit and loss results.
- To ensure minimum kitchen wastage.
- To learn and record skills and recipes from other members of the department.
- To follow the cleaning schedules for the kitchen and clean the section and other areas as directed.
- To ensure stock is controlled and rotated. Accept and store deliveries
- To report any maintenance issues to the Head Chef or Sous Chef immediately.
- To comply with all Aviator policies and procedures to ensure that all-statutory regulations are observed.
- To comply with the conditions of the food hygiene policies.
- To be flexible and willing to help other departments at busy times if required

Key Experience/ Characteristics preferred for the Commission/ Junior Chef - Sywell, Northamptonshire:-- A valid Food Hygiene certificate and/or catering qualifications a distinct advantage and experience working with and preparing food
- Natural passion for Food and creating dishes and new menu ideas essential
- Good knowledge of and food hygiene regulations / standards desirable
