Owlswick School and Home provides residential care and education to young people who have emotional, behavioural and social difficulties, mild learning difficulties or have been assessed as being on the autistic spectrum. We are situated near Lewes in East Sussex. Our experienced staff teams are proud to provide high quality care and education in order for young people to achieve their aspirations and become resilient, confident and independent young adults. Staff support and work with young people who often display challenging behaviour due to their complex backgrounds and personal situations.

We are looking to recruit to a Care Officer post.

This is a full time post with the opportunity to join our care team. You will work to a shift pattern that covers days, evening, sleep-in and weekends supporting young people within their daily routine. The successful applicant will need to have at least one year’s experience of working in a residential care setting or in an equivalent area, supporting young people with a range of emotional and behavioural difficulties. You will act as a key-worker to at least one young person. Preferably the post holder will have a QCF (NVQ) Level 3 qualification that is relevant to the post and/or be willing to achieve this. Salary is dependent on experience and qualifications and will be circa £20 000 plus additional payments for sleep-ins.
