The Highway Network Department are looking for an ambitious and forward thinking individual to employ as the team leader of the Streetworks department. Bridgend County Borough Council has a fine reputation throughout the Streetworks community and you will be able to maintain and enhance this reputation.

This challenging and varied role will require an understanding and knowledge of the all aspects relating to the management of works being undertaken by Statutory Undertakers and other bodies on the Highway Network. The post is integral to the implementation and development of streetworks legislation as it affects Bridgend County Borough Council. 

You will be managing a team of four staff who oversee, coordinate, and monitor works and events on the highway network.

*To undertake the management of the Streetworks team, in delivering its service objectives, performance targets and statutory duties.

*Day to day co-ordination of Street Works on the Highway Network

*Represent and protect the interests of Bridgend County Borough Council at South West Wales HAUC, Welsh HAUC, CSS(W) Service Users Group and within the Streetworks Community.

*Arrange and coordinate the recovery of fees/defect charges etc. associated with the New Roads and Streetworks Act 1991.

You must have experience in undertaking the specific duties identified in this pack. Must be able to manage a team and communicate effectively with colleagues, local members, external companies and members of the public.
