IT Application Support Specialist

This is an opportunity to join a progressive and ambitious Cornwall-based IT company responsible for many innovative local authority smart card schemes throughout the UK and they are seeking an additional Application Support Officer to help with their expansion plans.

They specialise in designing, building and maintaining systems to deliver multi-application smart card schemes. They are constantly working with new customers, new projects and new technologies which make this an exciting and challenging position for someone who is capable and ambitious.

The person they are looking for will be highly motivated, adaptable and well-organised and will have excellent communication skills. The initial task will be to become familiar with their SmartConnect suite of software and on the job training will be provided.

Skill Set Required:
- Very high level of ICT Literacy
- Excellent communication skills, both spoken and written, and good interpersonal skills
- Experience of using management information systems and databases
- High degree of literacy and numeracy and ability to draft correspondence, reports and minutes clearly and succinctly
- Fully conversant with the Microsoft Office suite of applications (including Excel, Word, Access, Powerpoint)
- Ability to work under pressure and to exacting deadlines
- Experience of resource scheduling and co-ordination
- Ability to perform general administrative duties when required

The following experience would also be useful;
- Project support or project management
- Training customers or colleagues
- Financial administration and Sage accounting

They are looking for someone to start as soon as possible so there is an overlap with the present incumbent who is going on maternity leave from the middle of May. The period of employment is for the duration of maternity leave which is up to the end of February2019. Continuation of employment beyond that date is possible depending on the aptitude of the candidate and the development of new commercial opportunities.

They offer a generous package which includes a salary ranging from £18,000 to £22,000 per annum (negotiable depending on experience) as well as participation in the company's annual profit related bonus scheme and company contributed pension scheme.
