A Fortune 200 company, this company employs more than 50,000 employees, in 57 countries with over 17,000 granted and pending patents. This company manufactures, converts, and distributes thermal transfer ribbons (TTR) for bar coding and labelling applications. In their Leicester facility, due to expansion, they are seeking a Shift Supervisor to work a fixed shift of 14 to 22. Monday to Friday.

As part of the interviewing process you will be expected to attend an assessement screening for half a day.

As the Shift Supervisor you will be responsible for the workflow at the facility. Your role will not just be someone who supervises the work of others, but someone who is be able to coach, resolve issues and serve as a link between subordinates and upper management.

The goal is to ensure that operations are carried out productively so as to ensure profitability and sustainable growth.

Key Accountabilities of Supervisor

- Supervises and coordinates activities of the shift to ensure product is produced, packed and dispatched to our customers within the correct specification and on time.
- Set goals for performance and deadlines which comply with the company's plans and communicate them to subordinates.
- To ensure employees comply with company policy and procedures, including working term directive.
- Ensure complete compliance to prescribed BRC, ISO9001, 14001, 18001 and 5S processes.
- Motivating, organising and encouraging teamwork within the workforce to ensure KPI's are achieved and exceeded.
- Train and monitor staff on their procedures, safe work practices and carry out new employee inductions.
- Ensure implementation and adherence to health and safety procedures.
- Carry out first stage of disciplinary procedures.
- Carry out Return to Work Interviews.
- Any other duties as set out by your line manager.

Skills Required

- At Least 2 years' experience in production and warehouse distribution preferably within the manufacturing industry.
- Leadership qualification is desirable but not essential.
- Knowledge of machine and tools.
- Previously worked with ISO 9001 & ISO 1401 accreditations is essential.
- IOSH supervising safely is essential.
