Support Worker

We have a new opportunity for an experienced Support Worker to join a small, well established residential service for adults with Autism in St Austell, Cornwall.

You will be supporting up to 4 younger adults with autistic spectrum disorders in a spacious home, with all personal, physical, social and emotional aspects of their lives. You will enable individuals to reach their life goals and aspirations by providing day-to-day person-centred support.

You will also support individuals to take part in a wide range of activities and lead busy timetables, including college, voluntary work, social clubs and more.

Duties of the role may include:
Assisting with domestic skills and personal care
Keyworking
Administering medication
Ensuring individual`s wishes are heard and understood
Positive behaviour management (PBM)

You will be working 39 hours per week, with shifts running 8am - 4 and 4pm - 10pm. You may also be required to undertake sleep ins on occasion, paid at £25 per sleep.

Pay rate for this role is £7 per hour on weekdays, and £10 on weekends. Benefits include:

To apply for this role you will need to have experience of working with children or adults with autism, and have a good understanding of autistic spectrum disorders.
A qualification in Health and Social Care would be highly desirable but not essential, as you will be supported to achieve this in your role.
A full UK driving licence would also be desirable.
