This is an exciting opportunity to teach History to highly committed pupils at a leading, historic school in a popular and thriving History Department.
Pupils at Uppingham choose to study History because they find it intellectually stimulating and they are willing to engage with complex ideas. With your excellent subject knowledge and classroom management skills you will have the opportunity to encourage the pupils to challenge themselves in their studies to GCSE level, A levels and beyond.
This position would suit an experienced teacher or an NQT and is also available to talented and ambitious candidates who wish to undertake training and complete a teaching qualification whilst working.
Teachers at Uppingham play a full part in the life of this seven-day week boarding school, by taking on responsibilities in addition to classroom teaching. The co-curricular programme is exceptionally varied and includes a wide range of sports, CCF, community service and the Duke of Edinburgh Award. Each teacher is also attached as a tutor to one of the School's fifteen boarding houses.
