JOB TITLE: Interim Database Manager LOCATION: London (SW1P) HOURS OF WORK: 9:15am - 5:15pm (35 hours pw) CONTRACT: 6 months Fixed Term Contract REPORTING TO: Fundraising Manager PURPOSE OF ROLE Premier's database function is going through a time of change. We need an experienced database officer/manager to shadow our departing Database manager, to quickly learn and take on certain tasks. Upon the appointment of new permanent staff (which the holder of this post is welcome to apply for) the post holder will need to instruct these staff in daily processes and procedures. We are also recruiting for a Database Officer to assist the Database Manager in routine data tasks. KEY TASKS Shadowing the outgoing Database Manager to learn database processes, extractions and daily work. Train and support the newly appointed Database Officer who will assist the Database Manager in the completion of routine data tasks such as: Direct Mail segmentation, extraction and reporting. Marketing & FR Event Invitation extractions. Export of data from RE to be imported on to call systems for Telephone Fundraising. Subsequent import back into RE of outcomes. Weekly and ad hoc reporting Direct Mail, Marketing & fundraising Events and income related database tasks on our main database, Raisers Edge (RE). Instructing new staff in documented database processes. Supports others in the organization regarding our database, answering queries, providing one-off reports. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE At least 3 years previous experience in a similar role. Excellent understanding and experience of using Raisers Edge (desirable) or other similar fundraising system (essential). Knowledge and experience of Data Protection legislation and implementation. Advanced skills in Excel (e.g. vlookup, pivot tables). ABILITIES & SKILLS High attention to detail. High quality of written work. Have a high degree of accuracy and speed. Able to learn new processes and systems quickly. Willingness to adapt to new challenges and find solutions to problems Good analytical and quantitative skills. Proven administration, multi-tasking, prioritising and organisational skills. Good oral and verbal communication skills. PERSONAL QUALITIES Able to work with clarity of thinking under pressure. A lively, flexible, friendly personality with a high level of commitment and dedication. A team worker. The post-holder should be able to work responsibly without close supervision and have a flexible approach The post-holder will need to be well presented and dedicated. The post-holder will work in a Christian environment and will deal with Christian organisations and Ministries for most of the time, therefore it will be necessary to have respect and sympathy with the Christian faith and it's values.
