Executive Assistant to the CEO

Full time position (37 hours per week) – permanent

Based at the National Water Sports Centre, Holme Pierrepont, Nottingham

Salary Up to £30,000, dependent upon experience

British Canoeing is the United Kingdom's Governing Body for the sport and recreation of canoeing and kayaking.  This is an exciting time to join British Canoeing, as we are making progress in delivering Stronger Together - an exciting and ambitious new strategy for paddlesport in the UK (2017-2021).

The Executive Assistant will provide executive and project support to the Chief Executive and the Head of Governance and Compliance. As the first point of contact for the CEO the role holder will assess priorities, deal with calls, enquiries, emails and respond to requests often involving complex, confidential and sensitive matters, which require co-ordination of responses both internally and externally. This role also has responsibility for the management of all aspects of the main office and reception staff.

The role holder will also assisting in mattes in relation to the Board which will include making necesssary preparation for meetings, venue bookings, accommodation and travel arrangements for Board members as well creating and circulating board packs.

This is a busy role and, as such, the ideal candidate will excel at working under pressure, balancing and prioritising a demanding workload and be able to work independently. We are looking for someone with a proven track record of producing work of an excellent standard with a high level of attention to detail. The ability to build strong relationships within the organisation and with external stakeholders is essential.

Candidates will also ideally have substantial experience of working in project management at a senior level or able to demonstrate experience in this kind of role and have the ability to take individual responsibility for projects from concept to completion.
