Established in 1997, our client is a family run not-for-profit organisation whose sole purpose is ‘to provide residential and supported accommodation services for homeless people or people with little or no housing choice’. They employ a committed workforce of over 100 members of staff, who provide a broad range of residential and social care services designed to meet the diverse needs of over 300 vulnerable men, women, children and young people across Merseyside.
They have had a Support Practitioner position arise within their Adult Services; with the successful candidate being able to provide advice and support to clients who are homeless, or at risk of homelessness. The Support Practitioners are responsible for undertaking needs and risk assessments for all residents and creating a support plan based on their individual needs.
The successful candidate will have an in-depth understanding of the complex issues faced by service users such as homelessness, harm reduction, drug and alcohol dependency, domestic violence and mental health, and how each issue can be managed with a view to supporting them through crisis and periods of change.
To be successful you will have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar post supporting outreach services or within a hostel setting. You will hold an NVQ Level 3 in Housing/Health and Social Care and be able to accurately record information within case notes and support plans. Experience of Mainstay is essential along with a full-clean driving license and access to your own vehicle.
