Our Client

This is a great opportunity to join a friendly, specialised retail business working part-time in Tring.

Our client established their business in the style of a farm shop, selling and serving only the best British and locally sourced produce. Located in the heart of the traditional Chilterns market town of Tring on the Bucks/Herts border they stock only British fruit and veg, in season much of this is hand-picked in Ivinghoe, locally baked breads, cured meats and hams as well as the widest range of British cheeses in the localityas well as their own award winning produce.

The Role

They are currently seeking additional support for the business and this would suit someone who has a passion for food and enjoys working with and dealing with people.

The role will encompass all elements of the farm shop from preparing teas, coffees, light bites and lunch, to selling local produce and managing the till, as well as behind the scenes tidying and washing up. This will be a hands-on role so would suit someone who enjoys a diversity of roles.

The farm shop has a loyal clientele and the owners pride themselves on the reputation they have built up since the business opened. Eighty five percent of the customer base are repeat customers. This is an important aspect of the role and they would like someone who can appreciate the customer base, nurture it and also help build new customer and supplier relationships.

Working hours

Flexible working is the key to this role; ideally the core weekly hours will be Monday 12.00-6.30pm to be alternated with Sundays 9.30am-4.00pm, Tuesday 10.00am-2.30pm and Friday 10.00am-2.30pm. In addition there should be an expectation for overtime and to provide occasional holiday cover for the owners, this will involve extended days of 7.00am-6.30pm, other hours to be agreed as required by the business.

The ideal candidate will

• have had experience in a customer facing role

• be comfortable managing cash and card transactions
• be Fun.

Desirable

• Previous experience in a similar role
• Level 2 Food and Hygiene certificate or be prepared to sit this exam (cost will be reimbursed)

Salary

The salary on offer is GBP8.50hr and auto enrol pension (if applicable).

Holiday 20 days plus bank holiday - pro rata for hours worked.
