Worldpay is one of the largest global payments (Fintech) businesses in the world that has put data at the centre of the business by creating a new Data Transformation team that spans business and technology. At the heart of this is our large Hadoop based Enterprise Data Platform that will be used to provide data insights both to our internal teams and our customers.

With this large Data Transformation team, sits our Data Engineering team. This role will be responsible to provide the quality control gateway for the Data Engineering team. Data testing is complex so you will be looking into establishing a framework where the business can verify that new functionality or enhancement added for data processing is not compromising the integrity of the existing data processes.

How will you add value on a day-today basis?

Working as an integral part of the Data Engineering team, you will be establishing Testing Framework which applies to all ETL processing. You will ensure that the deliverables from the team meet the requirements of the business in accordance with development standards.

You will plan and manage the generation of all test cases and also manage and execute test cases accurately and within agreed time scales. You will be involved in executing/creating automated regression tests an also create test cases for effective delivery of ETL processes. On a given day, you will find yourself working on ensuring requirements and on-going changes in requirements are fully met and also capturing all test evidence. You will be responsible for delivering fully tested quality systems by meticulous planning.

What will make you the ideal candidate?

Coming from a background of ETL testing, you will have an excellent manual testing experience. Having a sound experience on Linux operating system, and Sql query language along with Hadoop, Hive, Hbase, Oozie. You will have the ability to interrogate databases using SQL. An experience in automating test systems is highly desirable. You will have the ability to manage stakeholders in both business and technology and none the less can influence technology teams during planning sessions to ensure positive outcomes from a testing point of view.
