We're looking for a Development Manager to be an integral part of the next phase of our growth. You'll be play a key role in coordinating and implementing our fundraising efforts, with a focus on foundations and cultivating our growing public donation programme. ???Our mission is to support people to run effective campaigns that challenge injustice. We do this by running campaign training programmes that help people develop the skills, confidence and community to change things that matter to them. In our trainings, we prioritise people from communities directly impacted by injustice. We currently work in the UK and Germany. Our trainings are effective and popular; we now see more than 7 applicants for every training place we have available. Since our creation in 2013 we've trained more than 400 people and are growing our programmes so we can train more than 500 people a year. We're looking for a Development Manager to be an integral part of the next phase of our growth. You'll be play a key role in coordinating and implementing our fundraising efforts, with a focus on foundations and cultivating our growing public donation programme. We are looking for candidates who are self-motivated and have good attention to detail. There will be plenty of room for initiative. The Development Manager will work alongside an excellent programme team, under the direct guidance of the Executive Director. We're a flexible and supportive employer and are much more interested in your experience than any formal qualifications you may have. Responsibilities will include: Managing day-to-day relations with a set of current and prospective foundation donors. Lead our work researching and cultivating new foundations then working towards putting applications in to them. Preparing funding proposals, donor reports, donor updates and other related outreach material as needed, in close cooperation with the finance and training delivery teams. Managing our new public donation programme, making the most of our growing supporter and alumni base. Providing strategic advice to the Executive Director with respect to short and long-term fundraising strategies. Implementing and, where needed, updating our fundraising strategy and help to achieve the goals set out in our organisational strategy. In consultation with the Executive Director and programme teams, setting fundraising targets and producing periodic funding forecasts. Reviewing grant agreements and monitoring the organisation's delivers on contractual commitments. Managing and further develop the relevant administrative infrastructure, including our grant tracking and reporting systems in Salesforce. To succeed in the role you'll have some of the following skills and experience: Awareness of how systemic injustice operates in our society (things like economic inequality, racism and heterosexism). We are looking for someone who is excited to be part of team that is exploring how best to confront those issues both in the workplace and in the wider society. Demonstrated ability to forge new donor partnerships and a track record of bringing in new money. 5 years' experience dealing with foundations and negotiating/managing grants. Excellent writing and editing skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Experience writing grant reports and proposals Experience producing a range of communications materials for different audiences. Financial literacy and a proven ability to understand budgets. Ability to work with colleagues dispersed across national and international offices. Enthusiasm, initiative and willingness to learn. Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines. Excellent organisational and administrative skills, including a systematic approach to maintaining donor tracking systems. Ability/willingness to travel to staff retreats and for donor visits.
