Job Title: HR Advisor (Resourcing, Diversity and Inclusion)
Location: Northallerton, North Yorkshire
Salary: Grade 9 Starting Salary £28,485 rising to £30,153 per annum
Job Type: Permanent, Full time (37 hours per week (Flexi time scheme)

The Fire & Rescue Service has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and positive seasoned HR Professional. You will embrace and actively promote Service values and positive behaviours, champion diversity and inclusion, demonstrating a fair, transparent and ethical approach to recruitment and HR practice. As a highly proactive and efficient individual with strong communication skills you will excel in supporting organisational change, employee relations and recruitment activity. You will be prepared to challenge best practice and demonstrate resilience in resolving situations and be able to manage conflicting priorities in an effective and timely manner. As an excellent problem solver you will have a positive 'can do' approach, build and maintain great working relations, and deliver a highly customer focused service delivery, measuring outputs and evaluating methods for success.
You will be a qualified HR Professional having an up to date knowledge of HR employment legislation together with proven experience and demonstrable ability to interpret into best practice methodology for advising and coaching on resource requirements, employee relations, grievance, discipline, performance and attendance.
Essential Requirements
In the addition to the above you must:
- Have current Chartered Membership of the CIPD
- Be able to demonstrate a high standard of written reports, communications, policy, processes and procedures
- Have proven HR experience in a generalist role, providing best practice HR advice and guidance, specifically in the management of employee relations and recruitment campaigns and activities
- Advanced and Proficient user of Microsoft packages, electronic Recruitment and HR systems
- Experience in supporting positive actions and the diversity and inclusion agenda
- Align to the Services corporate values (PROTECT)
- Hold a full current driving licence
- Willing to undertake an enhanced (DBS) check

The post is conditioned to the Scheme of Conditions of Service for NJC Local Government Services (Green Book). Benefits include flexitime scheme, 24 days' annual leave (29 days after 5 years' continuous service), Local Government Pension Scheme and optional additional benefits from Everybody Benefits Scheme including Child Care Vouchers and Cycle to work. The successful applicant will be entitled to become a member of the Local Government Pension Scheme.
