Our client, a large company based in Leicestershire, part of an international group, has engaged Paul Mitchell Associates to recruit a Financial Accountant.

Purpose of Role

In this role, you have responsibility for the timely preparation of the auditable consolidated management accounts for all Group legal entities.

You will support the Group Financial Controller in the maintenance and continuous improvement of a reliable financial control framework with clear structured accounting data to inform the business of its financial performance. This includes the review and preparation of key monthly, quarterly and year end account schedules and documentation of processes and procedures.

Role Responsibilities

Manage, recruit, develop and support a team of Management Accountants and Assistant Accountants, serving as a mentor to those undertaking professional qualifications.
Review, create and implement a reliable financial control framework with clear structured processes, policies and procedures.
Establish, implement and review appropriate accounting schedules at a detailed and group consolidated level.
Manage and review appropriate sub ledger reconciliations and roll forwards with agreement to the U. accounting submissions and internal reporting to branches
Support in ensuring accounting principles (e. FRS102 and local GAAP) are appropriately applied to all Group entities and for the U. accounting submissions.
Preparation of reporting decks with commentary on financial information and variance to plan, forecast and prior period.
Support with the financial audits and production of statutory accounts for all Group entities including any consolidation and supporting notes.
Drive continuous improvement and seek innovative solutions to complex issues and manual time consuming tasks across the Management Accounting function.
Partner with Finance Planning & Analysis and other business teams to support on planning & forecasting and key business decisions.
Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders including local tax authorities and advisors.


General Responsibilities

Support in the development of new initiatives for the improvement of finance functions.
Provide on the job coaching to fellow team members where required.

Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified (or equivalent) is essential.
2+ years post qualified experience in a medium to large sized business in industry.
Excellent reporting, analytical and numerical abilities.
Capable of leading and motivating a team, building relationships and influencing a variety of stakeholders.
Strong competency in Excel and large data management.
Excellent organisational skills, is able to prioritise and delegate effectively.
Detail oriented, highly motivated and results focussed.
Able to work as a team player working collaboratively with other departments.
Ability and understanding of continuous improvement in processes.
Strong technical and statutory accounts experience.
Desirable Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

SOX / Internal controls experience.
Experience of dealing with overseas entities and multiple currencies.
