Our client is a leading standalone UK-focused downstream energy company and has a strong UK market share (circa 16%). Their Oil Refinery in Ellesmere Port processes 9 million tonnes of crude oil and feedstock per year and is a major supplier in North-West England with customers including most of the major retail brands operated by the international oil companies and the hypermarkets, together with Manchester Airport and the region’s trains and buses.

They employ over 900 highly-trained and loyal staff who are at the heart of everything they do. The company has an embedded safety culture, technically challenging work and provides some of the best training available in the industry.

Our client currently has an exciting opportunity available for an Oil Products Trader to assist an established team to optimize their asset backed trading and drive the growth of the business.

Responsibilities will include developing mogas Blending and global Trading opportunities, supporting the long term relationship with external stakeholders, supporting the expansion of the business further down the value chain and helping EPS realise the refinery margins as per plan.

You will be responsible for running mogas blending and trading book, ensuring smooth operation of the refinery, including optimum levels of inventories and for advising internal stakeholders on how to optimise the blending margins by way of new products available. You will also advise the risk manager to ensure that the products trading derivatives risk is captured and hedged appropriately.

Our ideal candidate will have substantial front line experience in the mogas market including blending, barges and cargo trading and/or business origination with European trading market experience and work experience in a broad range of trading organisations preferred. Other trading experience, both commodities or financial is a plus however you must have experience in trading related functions including controls, operations and shipping. You will be educated to degree level or equivalent, possessing strong communication skills, effective negotiation skills and numerical and analytical abilities
