A long term career opportunity with director level prospects.
Ambitious and growing design led civil and structural engineering consultancy.
Play a mission-critical role in cost management for a leading player in the sector.

Our client is a private, UK-based engineering consultancy with a well-established reputation, specialising in design led civil and structural engineering projects. Its portfolio includes an exciting and diverse mix of private sector clients, including infrastructure, high-quality, architecturally impressive properties, iron and marine structures and wide-ranging commercial developments.  Their clients and their people are at the heart of everything they do.

As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will embrace a broad range of responsibilities in the company. You’ll play a central role in cost management, providing pre-contract cost planning advice and post-contract cost control.  Helping drive the monthly valuation process, final account settlement and monthly cost reporting, you’ll also play a key project monitoring role, offering independent advice to project funders, in addition to contract administration (JCT, NEC and other forms).

As well as advising on pros and cons of different approaches to construction procurement, you’ll also be involved in:

  • tender preparation and administration
  •  contract formation
  •  risk management, advising clients on risk and value
  •  business case preparation

Degree-qualified and with Chartered RICS status, you have a proven QS track record within the construction sector, with first-class client-facing skills and the confidence to chair client and Design Team meetings.

A proactive, engaged team player with the ability to receive and develop a client brief, you have an in-depth understanding of the development and construction processes and work well with contractors.  Your excellent all-round communication skills complement real commitment to team-work and strong time management skills.  Proficient in IT, especially MS Office, you also need to live within a reasonable commutable distance to Cardiff.

The client is looking to make this a long-term appointment and is looking for an individual with the ability, drive and ambition to make it to director level in this growing engineering consultancy. In addition to a negotiable attractive and market competitive salary, the comprehensive benefits include; contributory pension scheme; long-term illness cover; life cover; a dynamic, vibrant young office environment.
