As part of their exciting growth plans they are now seeking an Analyst to deliver market research and innovation consultancy projects for clients within science, technology and engineering sectors. The work load is fast paced and varied; one moment you could be helping a healthcare company to assess the market potential for a new cancer diagnostic, the next could see you working with an engineering company to commercialise a prototype wave energy device. The common thread? Robust market intelligence to inform decision making.
Responsibilities will include:
- Supporting clients to assess the market potential for new product / technology propositions (market size, predicted growth rates, level of competition etc)
- Undertaking primary and secondary research, together with subsequent analysis and report-writing
- Collating, integrating, structuring, and critically assessing information from multiple sources
- Using strategic tools such as PESTLE/SWOT, Porters 5 forces and value chain analysis to develop commercialisation strategies and action plans to maximise business success for clients
- Quickly adapting to new science, engineering, technology based research topics
Required Skill and Competence:
- A relevant degree (minimum 2:1 in marketing, business studies, management or a science / technology discipline
- Ideally a postgraduate qualification or relevant commercial experience
- Excellent research and data interpretation skills
- Strong planning and organising skills with attention to detail
- Exceptional communication skills
- Proven ability to research, analyse and present market and commercial information
