An experienced Quality Technician is sought by a world leader in the manufacture of automotive components to join their Quality team based in Wednesbury. This role is deal for somebody looking to gain valuable operational Quality experience in the automotive or chemical industry.

The Role:

Reporting to the Quality Manager, as a Quality Technician you will have the following key duties:


  • Ensure that continuous improvement is made in all Production Quality Deliverables (e.g.: RPPM, CPPM, IPPM, SPPM, Quality Costs, Customer Product Audits and Warranty)
  • Prepare necessary corrective / preventive actions, follow up, verify and release of corrective actions.
  • Assure all Quality activities are performed in accordance with BOS-, TS standards and specific customer requirements
  • Perform Gauge Studies (Gauge R&R, Bias, Linearity and Stability) before gauge is approved for production changes (where applicable)
  • Support the continuous improvement of the Operator Description Sheet (ODS)
  • Train others in quality boundary standards using either written standards or physical parts
  • Assist identification and use of appropriate statistical tools
  • Conduct stock sort actions either on site or at customer facilities
  • Attend and participate in communication activities and/or teamwork, for example, team briefs, quality briefs, quarterly presentations and Kaizen workshops
  • Maintain the work area to the required 5S and housekeeping standard
  • Investigate any supplier concerns referring to drawings, report writing, Issue Supplier 8D / IRIS
  • First point of contact for manufacturing concerns
  • Ownership of internal firewalls including training of quality standard and resource plans
  • Customer build trials / APQP / PPAP as required
  • Provide test data on hardness, weight and density to the Site
  • Recommend action to deviations
  • Verify tools to drawings (TERs)
  • Analyse and compare parts to drawings and specifications


  • Continually support, develop, improve laboratory practices
  • Support the Company's Policy Maturity Model Improvement Process
  • Control and Track Document specific to the Manufacturing process. In Line with BOS.
  • Audit according to Schedule the Manufacturing process for compliance to BOS and ISO TS 16949
  • Collect, Analyse and Present Quality Specific data
  • Update Production specific KPI's
  • Manage Production Auditing tools and communicate findings.
  • Train others in the improvements to Quality Management systems

The successful Quality Technician will demonstrate:

  • 3 Years' experience in a similar role
  • Awareness of working within the Automotive or Manufacturing industry would be an advantage (but not essential)
  • Excellent Microsoft experience - Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Self-starter with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to deliver under pressure
  • Task oriented with the ability to develop effective relationships
