We have an upcoming vacancy for a 1st and 2nd Line Support/Helpdesk Engineer to provide outstanding support to a varied base of small and medium-sized clients.

We are a friendly and professional team who provide Managed IT Support and Services to a range of different clients and are based in Stockport, Cheshire.

We are looking for a reliable and hardworking individual who has a keen interest in technology and can hit the ground running with their passion for IT and exceptional customer service skills.

Responsibilities and Duties

Your working day will be different every day. No two days will be the same and you will see a variety of different challenges on a regular. You can be working with the Service Delivery Manager planning and implementing email migrations, setting up printers for customers, completing onsite workstation installations, removing viruses from a customer PC or calling into a client’s premise to solve a computer/server issue.

Some duties can include:

  • Remote support through email and telephone;
  • Onsite support and onsite installations;
  • Offering practical and sensible advice to customers;
  • Building and maintaining relationships with clients;
  • Liaising with 3rd party vendors and suppliers on behalf of customers;
  • Working closely with Service Delivery Manager on various projects;
  • Developing in-house knowledgebase and documentation;
  • Implementing SLA’s and following clients’ issues through to a reasonable solution.

Qualifications and Skills

Required Skills:

  • Experience of customer service, building and maintaining customer relationships;
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely to all levels;
  • Experience of working within an MSP for 2+ years;
  • Knowledge of helpdesk systems and an ability to adapt to new software/programs;
  • Up-to-date experience and knowledge of current Operating systems and technologies;
  • Knowledge of Windows Server and Microsoft Exchange Server;
  • Knowledge of Local and Wide Area Networks;
  • Knowledge of network switches, especially Dell, Netgear and Cisco switches;
  • Have a working knowledge of Active Directory;
  • Experience in working with Anti-Virus and Backups;
  • Experience of working with DNS/DHCP/Group Policy etc.

Required experience:

  • IT Support for 2/3+ years;
  • Windows Server 2016 for 1+ years;
  • Experience in a Managed Service Provider for 2+ years.

Required License/Certifications:

  • Full UK Driving License with own mode of transport – All mileage is paid for business-related trips.
