Job Title: Housing and Benefits Support Officer

Location: Long Stratton, Norfolk

Salary: £18,746 - £21,268 per annum

Job Type: Full Time - 37 hours per week: Permanent

Job Summary:

It is a very exciting time to come and work for the Housing and Benefits team. There are two key changes being implemented that will nationally shape the future of the service; the implementation of the Homelessness Reduction Act and the roll-out of Universal Credit within the area.

Main duties & responsibilities:

  • Working in a pressurised fast-moving customer service environment.
  • Enabling residents to remain independent and thrive through supporting the delivery of an effective housing and benefits provision. Helping people to find the right solutions at the right time.
  • Meeting their customers in their home or face to face at our offices
  • Working within a multi-agency environment to provide advice and support, ensuring residents receive the help they need as early as possible.
  • Undertaking background research and gathering information.

You must have:

An NVQ level 2 or above (or an equivalent qualification) you should be IT and data savvy with a business intelligence and analytical mind-set. You must have good attention to detail, be organised, confident, professional and have experience of working to targets. You should also have relevant experience in a customer facing environment and experience dealing with vulnerable customers.
